About the BMW F01

The F01 was BMW's fifth-generation 7 Series, sold from 2009 through 2015 as the standard-wheelbase 740i, 750i, 760Li (V12), and Alpina B7. The F02 long-wheelbase variant shares front-half parts but diverges in rear cabin and door construction. The 2012 LCI refresh updated headlights to LED, tail lights, and brought CIC and then NBT head units.

Same F01 platform, different engines (N63 V8 vs N74 V12). Bodywork, lighting, infotainment, and most interior parts interchange between 740, 750, and 760 variants. Engine-bay, exhaust, and transmission tunnel parts vary by engine. F02 is the long-wheelbase variant — most interior and rear-cabin parts differ from F01.
